Initial situation

  • Base plates and pumps had to be laboriously packed and picked by hand
  • Time-consuming transport to the production line, occasional damage to components and an increased error rate in final assembly

Customer requirement

  • Once completed in pre-assembly, the assembly (base plate) must be loaded onto a transport trolley using a manipulator.
It is then to be transported to the refrigeration circuit production area, where the base plate is subsequently removed again using a manipulator.

LKE solution

  • The trolleys were designed so that the pump and base plate can be transported to the production line without damage and in a pre-assembled state. Care was taken to ensure that the clearances were sufficiently large to allow the manipulator to grip or pick up the components without difficulty. A concept was developed in collaboration with the customer, and extensive testing was carried out using prototypes. KLT trolleys and custom-built PFW trolleys are used.

Result

  • Our custom solutions deliver the pump and base plate to the production line undamaged and pre-assembled
