What does LKE do?
LKE develops and manufactures transport and load carriers for intralogistics — roll containers, shelf trolleys, platform trolleys, tugger train systems and AGV load carriers. Since 1994, LKE has been supplying standard products and custom solutions to industry, logistics and retail sectors across Europe.
Which sectors does LKE supply?
LKE supplies the following sectors: Industry & manufacturing, Automotive & suppliers, Postal & CEP logistics, Warehousing & forwarding, Retail & e-commerce fulfilment, Food & drink, Laundries & textile services, Healthcare & hospitals, Electronics & ESD manufacturing, Aviation & airports, and Defence & security. Each sector has its own specific requirements regarding load capacity, ESD protection, weather resistance and suitability for tugger trains.
Where are LKE products manufactured?
LKE manufactures at its own plants in Großenhain (Saxony) and Gherla (Romania). Development and sales are based at the head office in Marl (North Rhine-Westphalia). There are sales subsidiaries in the UK (lkeuk.co.uk) and Poland.
Standard product or custom solution — which is right for me?
Standard products can be specified immediately and are available quickly. Custom solutions are required when dimensions, load capacity, load configuration or process integration deviate from the standard. LKE designs customised solutions based on existing product ranges — this reduces costs and development time compared to designing a completely new product.
What does the online configurator do?
In the configurator, you can put together your own trolley step by step: load capacity, running gear, body and shelves. The configurator overview shows which product ranges can already be configured. The result, along with a configuration code, is added to your enquiry list and can be included in your enquiry from there.
Why are there no prices on the website?
LKE prices depend on the configuration, quantity and specific requirements — a list price would be inaccurate for most enquiries. You can obtain a binding quotation via the enquiry list or directly from the sales department.
How do I request a quote?
Add products and configurations to your enquiry list and submit it as an enquiry. The form will automatically include all items on your enquiry list, along with their item numbers. Alternatively, you can contact the sales team by telephone or email.
Is there a minimum order quantity?
No. LKE does not have a minimum order quantity – you can even make an enquiry about single trolleys. The quotation will specify the price and delivery time.
How long does delivery take?
LKE specifies the exact delivery time in the quotation, depending on the quantity, configuration and production capacity.
Which standards and certificates does LKE comply with?
LKE is certified to ISO 9001. Relevant product-specific requirements include, amongst others, ESD requirements, load-bearing capacity verification and labelling requirements. The ISO 9001 quality management certificates are available as PDF files on the Certificates page.
Can I test a product in advance or receive advice?
LKE provides on-site advice and personal consultations – particularly useful for tugger trains and AGV load carriers, where the process and the trolleys must be compatible. LKE does not offer loan items or samples. Please describe your project in an enquiry to info@lke-group.com, and we will work with you to determine which product is suitable.
How sustainable are LKE products?
LKE trolleys are designed for a long service life and to be easily repaired: wear parts such as castors can be replaced individually, whilst the steel and aluminium frames remain in use.
Support
Spare parts, maintenance, repairs and complaints: this is how LKE Service supports you once your trolleys are already in use.
7 questions
How do I order spare parts?
You can order spare parts via our service department at service@lke-group.com or on +49 2365 9100-134. Please quote the item number from the type plate and send a photo of the type plate with your enquiry — this ensures the correct part is clearly identified.
Which parts are subject to wear and tear and can be replaced?
Castors, brakes, locking mechanisms and plastic inserts are typical wear parts and can be replaced individually. The type of castor determines how smoothly it runs, how gently it treats the floor and the effort required — when changing floor surfaces or using a tugger train, it is worth changing the type of castor.
Does LKE offer maintenance contracts?
Yes. LKE offers preventative maintenance to avoid downtime and consequential damage. The scope and frequency are agreed on a fleet-by-fleet basis. Enquiries can be made via service@lke-group.com.
What should I do if a trolley is faulty?
Please report the fault to service@lke-group.com, providing the item number, a photo of the type plate and photos of the damage. LKE will assess whether an on-site repair, a parts replacement or a factory repair is the most appropriate course of action.
How do I make a complaint about a delivery?
Please send any complaints, quoting the delivery note number and item number, along with a photo of the type plate and a brief description, to service@lke-group.com. Please document any transport damage immediately upon delivery and note it on the consignment note.
Where can I find manuals, data sheets and CAD data?
Catalogues, brochures and guidelines can be found in the downloads section. Data sheets and CAD data for a product are available on enquiry via our contact form. Our service team will answer any questions regarding operating instructions at service@lke-group.com.
How do I reorder an identical trolley?
Enter the item or configuration number from the type plate into the search field — this will take you directly to the product or the saved configuration. For discontinued series, the sales department will specify the appropriate successor model.
Aviation
8 questions
Does LKE supply the aerospace industry directly?
LKE supplies material-handling solutions to OEMs, tier suppliers and MRO sites in the aerospace sector. The focus is on internal material flows — from component transport to workshop provision.
For which components are LKE aluminium transport systems suitable?
Structural parts, composite and lightweight components, cabin and interior components, pre-assembled sub-assemblies, as well as high-quality large parts such as flap trolleys or stringer beams. The geometry and mounting are designed specifically for each component.
Do the transport systems comply with OE/Airbus standards?
Yes. LKE supplies aluminium transport systems in accordance with OE standards for the aviation industry, including for Airbus programmes. Detailed specifications are agreed on a project-by-project basis.
Can carriers be adapted to the geometry of specific components?
Yes. Mounting brackets, moulded foam, fixing points and dimensions are adapted to the component’s geometry — in a way that protects surfaces, is secure and reproducible.
Are the systems suitable for indoor/outdoor storage and multimodal transport?
Yes. The aluminium construction and roll-on/roll-off design make the systems weatherproof and suitable for transfer — indoor deployment, outdoor buffering and intermodal transport, all in one system.
Does LKE also support MRO, service and maintenance environments?
Yes. MRO is a separate sub-segment. Workshop provision, tool trolleys and material handling in maintenance and repair are among the prioritised use cases.
Can customised solutions be standardised?
Yes. Standardisable carriers can be derived from recurring component families — a modular approach rather than a stand-alone solution for each variant.
Does LKE also work with tier suppliers rather than just large OEMs?
Yes. Tier suppliers and manufacturing sites linked to the aviation sector constitute a separate sub-segment — ranging from subsystems and mountings to lightweight components.
Defence
8 questions
Does LKE supply the defence industry directly?
LKE supplies material-handling solutions to manufacturers, subsystem suppliers and service centres within the defence sector. The focus is on internal material flows — not the end system.
For which components are LKE solutions suitable in the defence sector?
Heavy assemblies, sensitive electronics, sub-systems with numerous variants, component families made of aluminium and steel, as well as workshop and service provision.
Can customised load carriers be standardised?
Yes. Standardisable load carriers can be derived from recurring component families — a modular approach rather than a stand-alone solution for each variant.
How does LKE support growing production volumes?
Modular, scalable trolley and staging systems, as well as load carriers compatible with tugger trains and AGVs. The transport system grows in line with production.
Is LKE also suitable for service, retrofitting and maintenance?
Yes. Workshop and service provision are among the prioritised use cases — a structured trolley system reduces the time and effort required for searching and handling during modernisation and repair work.
How quickly can a solution be implemented?
Standard solutions from the LKE range are available at short notice. Customised systems are designed during an efficiency workshop and subsequently scaled.
Does LKE also work with subsystem suppliers rather than large OEMs?
Yes. Subsystem and component suppliers constitute a separate sub-segment — ranging from housings and mountings to lightweight construction.
Does LKE operate internationally?
Yes. LKE supplies material-handling solutions internationally, with its main markets in Europe.
